The New York sour is a fascinating taste experience. Largely similar to the famous whiskey sour, it adds a red wine float, offering two layers of flavour that mixes well with one another as you drink.
New York Sour Ingredients:
- 50ml bourbon
- 25ml ounce lemon juice
- 12ml ounce simple syrup
- Half an egg white
- Red wine, to float; a Shiraz, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Zinfandel would work great
Directions:
- Shake the bourbon, lemon juice, egg white and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker without ice.
- Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass.
- Float the red wine, by pouring the wine over the back of a spoon into the drink, and serve.
