Description
Schweppes is a popular brand of tonic water that was first introduced in 1783 by Johann Jacob Schweppe. It is known for its distinct bitter taste and carbonation, which is often used as a mixer for alcoholic drinks like gin and vodka.
The original Schweppes tonic water is made with carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural flavours, quinine, and sodium benzoate as a preservative. Quinine is the key ingredient that gives tonic water its bitter taste and is also used to treat malaria.
