Simonsig SMV Dry Red is a red wine made by the Simonsig Estate, a vineyard in the South African province of Stellenbosch. Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and Viognier are the three grape varieties used to create this wine, and their initials “SMV” represent them.
While the Mourvèdre grape adds dark fruit flavours and a full body, the Shiraz grape is renowned for its dark colour and spicy flavours. Although it is usually used to make white wines, the Viognier grape is occasionally added to red wine blends to add silky texture and floral aromas.
Simonsig SMV Dry Red is a complex wine with a deep ruby colour and aromas of blackberry, plum, and spice.
Palate: It has rich flavours of black cherry, black pepper, and tobacco, with a smooth and velvety texture. The wine is dry, with a medium to full body and moderate tannins.
